information for teenagers

Teen terror and menopause madness!!!!
Going through adolescence and going through menopause have a lot in common. You are both experiencing important and powerful physical changes and your feelings and moods may seem a bit unpredictable. It's a time to figure out just who you are now and what that means for the future.
Physical Changes
Adolescence and menopause involve powerful hormonal changes. Those changes have an impact on many different areas of our lives, from what we're interested in to how much energy we have. As a teenager, you know something important is happening now. Menopause can feel that way, too.
Well, menopause can involve equally astonishing, and sometimes confusing, changes in how a woman's body looks and works, the same for an adolescent

Feelings and Moods

Adolescents and women in menopause can both experience:

  • Mood swings. One minute you're down, the next you're up. And no one-even you-is quite sure what's happening.
  • The "blues." Maybe it's not depression, but you might feel like crying and not even know why.
    · Being spaced out. Your body was there, but your brain went somewhere else.
Who You Are Now

Adolescence and menopause are times when people try to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives.

  • Who's in charge here? You're wondering how to get control of things that may seem difficult to manage
  • Do I really like myself? You're figuring how to accept and enjoy yourselves.
What are my choices now? You're wondering how to make the decisions that will affect the rest of your lives.
